Terms and conditions

The rules of the service, in as few words as possible. If anything here isn't clear, write to us before paying.
What this is
invitations.com.mx is a service for creating digital invitations, sharing them by link and collecting your guests' replies. By using it you accept these terms; if you disagree with any of them, don't use it.
The service is provided by Invitations, based in Mexico.
Your account
You need an account to create an invitation, and you must be of legal age to have one. The details you register must be yours and true.
Keeping your account safe is on you. If someone signs in with your email, what they do counts as done by you — so if you suspect that happened, write to us.
Creating is free; you pay to publish
You can create an invitation, edit it and see it complete without paying and without giving a card. What you pay for is publishing it: making its link work for your guests.
This is deliberate, and it's what makes the refund rule fair: nobody pays without having seen exactly what they're buying.
Price and payment
An invitation costs $150 MXN, tax included: the price you see is the price charged. The video invitation is a $99 add-on, and both together cost $199.
It's a single payment per invitation. Not a subscription, no renewal, no recurring charges: you will never see a charge you didn't start yourself.
Stripe processes the payment. Your card details go straight to them and never pass through our servers.
Refunds
Before publishing: yes. If you paid and haven't published yet, write to us and we'll refund the full amount.
After publishing: no. Publishing makes the link work and the invitation shareable — the product has been delivered, and there's no way to undo your guests having seen it. Since creating and reviewing the whole invitation is free, you pay knowing exactly what you get.
If something went wrong — a double charge, an invitation that doesn't work, a payment left half-done — that isn't a refund: it's our problem and we fix it. Write to hola@invitations.com.mx.
What you get when you publish
Your invitation's link working, its QR code, each guest's personal link, sending by email and WhatsApp, and the dashboard where you see who replied.
Your invitation stays active for one year after the day of the event. During that time your guests can keep opening it and you can keep checking the RSVPs. After the year it stops being served.
The photos and music you upload: yours, and your responsibility
What you upload stays yours. You give us permission only for what's needed: storing it, processing it and showing it inside your invitation to whoever has the link.
And here's the important part: by uploading a photo, a video or an audio file you declare that you have the right to use it. We can't know. There is no technical way for a website to find out whether a song or an image is copyrighted, so we don't review what you upload and we aren't liable for content a user uploads without holding the rights. The consequences of uploading protected material are on whoever uploaded it.
That's why the service includes a catalog of music licensed for commercial use, ready to go: pick from there and you have nothing to worry about. Uploading your own song is an option, and it's the one that puts you in charge of that responsibility.
If we receive a well-founded copyright claim, we take the reported content down and let you know.
Your guests' data is your responsibility
You enter your guests' names, phone numbers and email addresses yourself. In doing so you confirm you may use that data to invite them to your event.
We store it and use it only for what you ask: building their link, sending them the invitation and collecting their reply. The full detail is in the privacy notice.
What's ours belongs to someone too
The site, its code, the 19 templates, their designs and illustrations, the brand and this text are ours. Using the service gives you permission to make your invitation, not to keep the template: the design can't be copied, resold or reused outside of here.
The catalog music has its own license, which covers using it inside your invitation. It doesn't include downloading it or using it for anything else.
If someone makes a claim about what you uploaded
If a claim, lawsuit or fine reaches us because of content you uploaded or guests you entered — a song's owner, someone saying you shouldn't have had their phone number — answering for it is on you, including the cost of defending it.
This isn't a clause for us to escape through: it's the consequence of you deciding what to upload and who to invite, and us not being able to review it. What we do is tell you as soon as we know, and hand you whatever we have so you can defend yourself.
What you can't do
The service can't be used to:
- Anything illegal, or to invite people to something that is.
- Impersonate another person or business.
- Send unsolicited advertising, chain messages or spam to lists that aren't your guests.
- Content that offends, harasses or exposes someone; or sexual material involving minors, which we also report.
- Resell the service or pass it off as your own without written permission.
- Try to break the site, get around payment, reach other accounts' data, or scrape content automatically.
If a rule is broken
We may unpublish an invitation or close an account for three reasons: it breaks the rules above, an authority requires it of us, or it's needed to protect the service or other people using it.
Where the case allows it we warn first and give a chance to fix things; where there's ongoing harm or something illegal, we act and tell you afterwards.
The service is provided as is
We take care to keep the site available, but we can't promise it will never go down or never fail: we depend on internet, email and payment providers that aren't perfect either.
One practical piece of advice: publish with time to spare, not the night before the party. And keep your own copy of the guest list you built.
How far our liability goes
If something of ours causes you harm, our liability goes up to the amount you paid for that invitation. And if you paid nothing — creating is free — up to the equivalent of one Mexican UMA, so the cap is a figure and not a zero.
We aren't liable for indirect damage — a party with fewer people, a guest who didn't see the message, profit that didn't happen — nor for what your guests do with the link you shared.
None of this removes the rights Mexican consumer law gives you.
Changes
We may change the service and these terms. If the change matters we'll say so on the site and by email to anyone with an account, and the date above says when it last changed. What you already paid for is governed by the terms in force when you paid.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Mexican States. As a consumer you may go to PROFECO. For anything at all, write to us first at hola@invitations.com.mx: almost everything gets solved that way.
