Digital party invitations

Not every party has a name. A night at home, a farewell, the team's end-of-season dinner — you still need to invite properly, even when the occasion has no label.

A party without a formal reason leaves more room for error, because nobody has a script: whether to bring something, whether it is at a house or a venue, whether a plus-one is fine. Writing those three things down is what turns an invitation into a plan people actually show up to.

And if the party has a theme — costumes, a colour, a decade — the invitation design is the first hint of what to expect. Pick the template for the tone of the night rather than for what looks nicest on its own: a quiet invitation to a costume party leaves half the room in street clothes.

Before you send it

  • Say whether plus-ones are welcome

It decides whether you are expecting fifteen people or thirty. Each invitation carries its own number of passes, so it is stated rather than negotiated.

  • Write down what to bring, if anything

A bottle, a chair, a dish. In the invitation it does not depend on anyone reading the group chat.

  • Include the map even if it is your own house

Whoever has been ten times does not need it; whoever is coming for the first time does — and that is exactly the person who arrives late.

Questions about this occasion

Does it work for any kind of gathering?

Yes. Invitations are built from sections — cover, when and where, schedule, replies — so the same tool covers a dinner for ten and a themed party for eighty.

Can I control how many people each guest brings?

Yes, and that is the difference from dropping an image into a group chat. Every invitation has its own cap on passes, so a guest can only reply for the people they were given.

Can I share one link with everybody?

You can, and it works for an open crowd. If you also want replies with names attached, use one link per guest: it is the same effort and the list fills itself in.
