In December everyone has three posadas on the same weekend. The one people confirm is the one that arrived first and said clearly what to bring.
A posada has two things no other party does: the gift exchange and the list of who brings what. Both generate more messages than the invitation itself, so they belong inside it — the spending cap for the gift, the date of the exchange if it differs, and who is bringing punch, snacks, and the piñata.
And because December is crowded, the date gets claimed earlier than at any other time of year.
